County of St. Paul Municipal Election
So you're considering taking a run at Municipal Council next October, but don't know where to begin, the essential information you need is now available in a comprehensive package for first-time and incumbent candidates.
Topics covered in the guide range from candidate eligibility right up to when candidates must remove their compaign signs. This guide walks people through almost everything they need to know about becoming a candidate, campaigning procedures, responsibilities of elected members, and the candidate information session schedule. All nomination forms must be filed in person at the administration office between the hours of 10:00 am and 12 noon a month before election day which will be September 23, 2013. A $100.00 deposit is required in the form of cash, money order, or certified cheque.
2013 Municipal Election Online Learning Program
- Video Conference - Refresher Workshop and Prospective Candidates Workshop
The Society of Local Government Managers, on behalf of Alberta Municipal Affairs, will be conducting on-location refresher training sessions for election officials and prospective candidates. The County of St. Paul has applied to sponsor the training sessions on Monday, September 16, 2013. The sessions will be held at the Community Futures office at 4802 – 50 Avenue in St. Paul
1:00 – 4:00 p.m. - Municipal Election Officials Refresher Workshop
6:00 – 9:00 p.m. – Prospective Candidate Workshop

Nomination Day - September 23, 2013 - Nominations paper have to be delivered to the County Office between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon
Election Day - Monday, October 21, 2013 - 10:00 am to 8:00 pm
