St. Lina Roman Catholic Church

St. Lina Roman Catholic Church

Comments

My grandparents owned a store in ST.Lina. The preist at the time, when I was around 8 years old, gave my grandparents a statue of St. Joseph, as they were replacing the statues. I still have that statue, I am 61 years old now. Unfortunately during a move the statue fell and broke into many pieces because of the age of the statue, I am in the process of restoring this statue. I believe my grandmother told me that the statue originally came from Italy and was in the original church in 1913. After a fire ruined the church, they replaced the statues. This statue is one of the original statues, I would like any information or pictures of the original church, and history of the statues, and where they came from, I will be putting this statue in my home library, and it would be great to have the history for it. Not only for me, but for my children. Any information you could provide would be extremely helpful. The above picture of the church reminds me of my childhood in many memories, as we used to play under the trees, and also went to church there with my grandfather. My aunt was married there in the 50's and I had my confirmation there when I was in grade 2 or 3
