St. Paul/ Elk Point Regional Economic Alliance (STEP)

St. Paul/ Elk Point Regional Economic Development Alliance (STEP) is a regional economic development partnership that identifies, plans,
manages, and advocates for projects and initiatives.

STEP represents several communities from the County of St. Paul, located northeast region of Alberta, 200 km east of Edmonton.

The region is very diversified with a strong Agriculture industry complemented with Tourism, Oil/Gas and Manufacturing. The Town of St. Paul is the major business center in the County, which also includes the Town of Elk Point, and the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay.

Easy-to-follow steps for Employers and Candidates 

The County of St. Paul is proud to be a designated community under the Rural Renewal Stream (RRS) of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. The RRS process is supported and administered by the STEP Economic Development Alliance on behalf of its partner municipalities*.

The Rural Renewal Stream offers eligible workers an opportunity to immigrate to the STEP (St. Paul and Elk Point) Region* with the formal support of the municipalities and endorsement from the STEP Economic Development Alliance. The program will be used to attract and retain newcomers and support employers to fill vacancies. This will support workforce development by helping employers meet labour demands, expand skilled workforce and support community and economic growth.

support their role in the delivery of their programs and services in their communities.
These learning resources are intended to:
- empower non-profits, board members and volunteers through training
- provide educational and training support in governance of non-profits
- make it easier to find and access various types of resources that meet the specific needs of individual learners
