Who We’re Looking For
The County is looking for a full-time Taxation & Assessment Clerk to join us, based in the Administration Office. The Clerk provides administrative support related to assessment and taxation for the County, adhering to deadlines or requirements set out in various regulations and the Municipal Government Act. The Clerk also provides a range of administration support and coordination responsibilities Planning & Development, Public Works, and Parks & Recreation.
What does this role look like?
- Providing customer service and conveying information related to taxes, penalties, etc.
- Updating ownership information, including title changes, grazing lease records, creating new tax rolls and transferring inactive rolls.
- Maintaining annual listings for assessor use (i.e. subdivision plans, new and cancelled road plans, parcel consolidations, acreage changes and discrepancies, lease listings).
- Updating LINC and RAP information for accurate property records.
- Processing and mail tax statements and assisting with annual tax notice mailouts.
- Supporting law firms with ownership changes and their Citizen Self-Serve accounts.
- Prepare annual exemption applications for non-profits and small businesses
- Verify credits and outstanding balances across multiple rolls.
- Providing administrative support for land leases, undeveloped road allowances, encroachment agreements and licenses, rural addressing, municipal campgrounds, fire permits, and other areas, as required.

Reports to
Taxation & Assessment Technician
Working hours
Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What does this role need?
- Related education and/or training in planning and development, municipal administration, or a related field.
- Experience in a municipal or related setting and knowledge of the Alberta Municipal Government Act (MGA) would be an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Strong time-management skills, including punctuality, with the ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex information.
- Willingness to participate in training and work-related workshops as required.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
