The Rural Alberta Advantage: Business in the County
The County of St. Paul is open for business. Below is information that may be helpful when looking to start a business, grow a business, learn more about tax cuts or even look into what major projects are happening.
The Alberta Small Business Tax Advantage
Alberta maintains the lowest overall tax regime in Canada, with no provincial sales tax, health premium or payroll tax. Albertans across all income ranges will continue to pay the lowest overall taxes when compared to other provinces.
Alberta's Small Business Tax Cut
Alberta cut its small business corporate income tax rate from 3% to 2% in Jan 2017, saving small business owners an estimated $195 million in 2018-19. Alberta is now tied with Saskatchewan for the second-lowest provincial small business rate and we continue to have the most competitive overall tax environment for small business owners.
