Level 1 No Fire Restrictions for the County of St. Paul

St. Paul County, May 28, 2024 – The County of St. Paul has lifted the Level 3 Fire Restriction issued on May 7 and is no longer under any fire restrictions. This means:

  • Safe wood campfires are allowed on private land and in campgrounds.
  • Any open-air fire other than a safe wood campfire requires a fire permit.

WHERE IS THE FIRE RESTRICTION LIFTED?

The lifted restrictions apply to all areas within the County of St. Paul, including campgrounds.

If you reside in the Town of St. Paul, the Town of Elk Point, or the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay, please refer to their websites, as their municipalities have the authority to lift their fire restrictions.

WHAT HAS CHANGED?

The County will resume issuing fire permits and has reactivated the permit application form. As the system has been suspended for a few weeks, we ask for residents’ patience and understanding as approvals may take longer than two (2) business days due to demand.

WHAT IS ALLOWED?

Wood campfires safely held on private land and in campgrounds.
