Level 3 Fire Restriction for the County of St. Paul

St. Paul County – The County of St. Paul has lifted the Level 4 Fire Ban issued on July 23 and is now at a Level 3 Fire Restriction effective August 1 at 11:30 a.m. Under the restriction, the following applies:

  • Safe campfires are allowed in campgrounds and other areas with approved pits only.
  • No open fires (brush piles, grass, fields).
  • No fireworks are allowed within the County.
  • No new burn permits will be issued, and all existing permits have been cancelled.

WHERE IS THE FIRE RESTRICTION?

The fire restriction applies to all areas within the County of St. Paul, including campgrounds.

If you reside in the Town of St. Paul, the Town of Elk Point, or the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay, please refer to their websites, as their municipalities have the authority to issue fire restrictions should the need arise.

WHAT HAS CHANGED?

The County will still not be issuing new fire permits and the permit application form will remain disabled at this time.

WHAT IS ALLOWED?

Wood campfires safely held on private land and in campgrounds are now permitted. Pits should be constructed of non-combustible material, and a spark arrester or metal guard should be in place while in use.
