Level 2 Fire Advisory for the County of St. Paul

St. Paul County, March 25, 2024 – The County of St. Paul has issued a Level 2 Advisory. The advisory reads as follows:

  • Safe wood campfires are allowed on private land and in campgrounds.
  • Issuance of fire permits for any other open-air fire may be restricted.
  • Existing fire permits would be honoured; however, issuance of new fire permits may be suspended.

WHERE IS THE FIRE ADVISORY?

The fire advisory applies to all areas within the County of St. Paul including campgrounds. The Towns of St. Paul and Elk Point are exempt at this time, as their municipalities have the authority to issue their own restrictions should the need arise.

WHAT HAS CHANGED?

Any fire permit applications received will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Residents are encouraged to continue following process and submit their applications, but we ask for your understanding that not all instances may be approved at this time.

WHAT IS ALLOWED?

Wood campfires safely held on private land and in campgrounds.
