County Downgrades to Level 2 Fire Advisory
The County of St. Paul has downgraded from a Fire Restriction to a Level 2 Advisory. The advisory reads as follows:
- Safe wood campfires are allowed on private land and in campgrounds.
- Issuance of fire permits for any other open-air fire may be restricted.
- Existing fire permits will be honoured; however, issuance of new fire permits may be suspended.
WHERE IS THE FIRE ADVISORY?
The fire advisory applies to all areas within the County of St. Paul, including campgrounds. Please confirm on the Town of St. Paul and Town of Elk Point websites to confirm their status, as their municipalities have the authority to issue their own restrictions should the need arise.
WHAT HAS CHANGED?
Fire permit applications have been reopened and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Residents are encouraged to continue following the process and submit their permit applications, but we ask for your understanding that not all instances may be approved at this time.
WHAT IS ALLOWED?
Wood campfires safely held on private land and in campgrounds.
